Your first visit

What to expect, and what to bring

Your first appointment takes about 45 minutes. Follow-ups are about 30. In most cases you are treated on the day.

Step by step

The first appointment

  1. Paperwork and a proper chat

A short form, then a conversation about the problem, how it started, what makes it better or worse and what you want to get back to.

  2. Assessment

A hands-on, thorough examination of the area and of the spine and posture behind it. X-rays are only needed in some cases, usually after trauma or for a recurring problem.

  3. First treatment, same day

In most cases treatment starts at that first appointment. The goal is always to remedy the situation as quickly as your condition allows.

What to bring

Four things that make the first visit easier

  • Your medical aid details, if you want to use your medical aid. It avoids confusion at the desk.
  • Any previous reports, X-rays or scans relevant to the problem.
  • Comfortable clothing you can move in.
  • A note of the medication you take, if any.

Questions people ask

Medical aid, timing, referrals

Do you accept my medical aid?

Yes. All medical aids are accepted. Bring your medical aid details to the first appointment so the claim can be processed without confusion. Cash, card and EFT are also accepted.

How long does an appointment take?

Your first appointment is about 45 minutes, because it includes the conversation and the assessment as well as treatment. Follow-up appointments are about 30 minutes.

Will I be treated on the first visit?

In most cases, yes. After the chat and the assessment, the first treatment generally follows on the same day. Where X-rays are needed first, usually after trauma or for a recurring problem, treatment follows once they have been reviewed.

How do I book?

Phone or WhatsApp 076 043 7073. About half of patients book each way. Appointments are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and on Saturdays by prior arrangement.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly. If you have been seen by a doctor or physiotherapist already, bring their notes or scans along and they will be taken into account.

Do you treat children and older patients?

Yes. This is a family practice as much as a sports practice. Treatment is always adjusted to the age and condition of the person on the table.
