The short version

Twenty years of hands-on practice

Dean qualified with a Masters degree in Chiropractic from the Durban University of Technology in 2006 and opened his own solo practice at 3 Anderson Road, Baysville, in 2010. He has been treating East London backs, necks, headaches and sports injuries there ever since.

He got into chiropractic the way many good chiropractors do: as an active sportsperson with an interest in health and how the body works, and from a family that received chiropractic care and saw great results. It is also, in his words, a career where you get to be of service, helping people.

How he works

Hands on, thorough, and in a hurry to get you better

The approach is hands on and thorough. The goal is always to remedy the situation as quickly as possible, given the condition you arrive with, and then to help you keep it that way.

What he enjoys most is the long game: friendly relationships with patients and their families over years, and the results, especially the cases where everything else had already been tried.

Sportsperson first

He has done the training too

Dean is an avid sportsperson, which is why this practice looks after so many athletes and weekend warriors. He has raced and finished:

  • Ironman triathlons
  • Comrades and Two Oceans ultra marathons
  • Marathons and trail runs
  • Cycling events
  • Racquet sports
  • Surfing

That matters when you are the one on the table. He knows the difference between a niggle you can train through and one you cannot, and what it takes to get back to a start line.
